I add 160ml water, 4 sweeteners and the pack, whisk whilst its bubbling for about 2 mins...it should go quite thick... then blob about 7 cookies to the outside of the circular sheet (it cooks quicker on the outside edge) then pat them down to look like cookies.

Now every microwave is different so you'll need to experiment with yours but I do them for 5 mins on high then turn them over and do them for another 2 minutes and they are part chewy and part crunchy

Hope it works! x

I tried these yesterday and I really like them, my other half does too as he had started to dislike the porridge because of the consistency!

He has them every morning for breakfast Smile

Thanks Katy x x

Worth a Try ?

Post by Naughty Pixie on Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:39 am

Must admit I am personally not a lover of the Porridge, but we sell lots to returning customers, but then I am not a really porridge lover anyway.

But Oatcakes and Cookies, well there's another thing. Think it will be worth trying & will report back. Wont be for a little while as my plan is to do liquid only for a minimum of the first week.

I tried them once but I left them in the microwave to long. They were really hard but I ate them as I hadn't got enough packets to last me! Sad Lol. I hate porridge and would never buy it again! UGH scratch

I just made the maple porridge pack up with 4 tab sweetners and 160ml water, cooked on the hob then put in a bowl to cool for a few mins. Then I got my cookasheet microwave paper and put 7 blobs round the outside in a cookie shape and nuked for about 4 minutes (kept checking them every minute or so)....and i've got some part chewy, part crunchy cookies, result!!! I liked the porridge anyway but its another bit of variety eh?!

Hi Kate I can't believe you like the porridge ( total) I actually heave when I eat it. I tried puttung cinnamon in as I love that but wasn't much much better. I have also tried nutmeg. I might try your idea tomorrow only got 2 days of porridge left! Yippee cheers

I love the porridge, so I must try this. I'd also be interested in what people have tried that has gone horribly wrong too as you must all be experimenting like mad to come up with these ideas!! Laughing

Poundland also sell them! They are black and there are 2 or 3 large sheets to cut to size. Fully microwavable etc

The pic on the front shows them being used in grills, ovens and microwaves.

Katyjay, when you made the cookies, did you disolve the porridge, tabs and water all together by stirring? What heat did you have it set at?

Do you have a Home Bargains where you live? I get mine there its called cookasheet. Think Tesco\Sainsburys sell the teflon type paper too - its usually by the cling film section
